  • BlackLine is down again today, deepening a post-earnings decline.
  • The company beat Q2 2026 non-GAAP EPS estimates ($0.61 vs $0.57 est) with revenue essentially in line.
  • Management disclosed that roughly $8 million of expected business slipped into later quarters as enterprise customers scrutinize AI governance, security, and data sovereignty before signing.

BlackLine shares are lower again today, deepening the decline that began with Tuesday's second-quarter 2026 earnings report. The financial-close automation software company beat non-GAAP earnings estimates ($0.61 per share versus $0.57 expected) with revenue essentially in line at $187.82 million versus $187.02 million expected — one of its cleanest profit quarters in recent memory by several accounts. The stock fell anyway after management disclosed that roughly $8 million of expected business slipped into later quarters, driven by increased enterprise scrutiny around AI governance, security, and compliance.

CEO Owen Ryan said enterprise buyers are asking new questions about governance, model selection, data protection, and data sovereignty before signing — a different kind of AI-related friction than slow feature adoption, since it delays the underlying software deal itself. BlackLine kept its full-year 2026 guidance unchanged despite the disclosure. For the full breakdown, see our dated report on the earnings and the deal delays.
